We don’t just “do” automation – we practise it too! That’s why futronic makes regular investments in sustainable solutions and enhanced efficiency – our own production processes included. Amongst other things, we use a Swiss-built harness manufacturing machine during the construction of control cabinets. To enable us to exploit the machine’s potential and capacity to the full, we also produce single wires to individual customer specifications in any batch size on request.
Fully automated ferrule processing
Our designers start out by creating a complete 3D cabinet layout in EPLAN Pro Panel, the new CAE software module, and then simulating virtual wiring – referred to as routing – on the basis of the circuit diagram. From this, they generate a list of sources and destinations including the length, colour and cross section of each individual core as well as further information on ferrule processing. This data is transmitted to the machine, which processes up to 36 cable types and cuts them to length, attaches the required ferrules or half-strips the wires and marks the individual cores – all fully automatically.
