What are the safety requirements for amusement park rides? What role does drive technology play in the safety of rides, and how can safety modules meet these requirements? With these questions in mind, the Schwabenpark team turned to DINA to open the Santa Lore ship swing:
The safety requirements for amusement park rides are very high. They have to be safe to ensure the protection of passengers. The drive technology plays a crucial role in the safety of amusement rides. It must be strong enough to set the heavy equipment in motion, but also flexible enough to be able to make individual settings for different operating modes.
Flexible safety systems like DINA’s SAFELINE VARIO system can meet these requirements. They can monitor up to 38 axes in different operating modes and are expandable to 15 modules. They monitor standstill, speed, position, direction and brake of the rides and ensure operation under specified temperature conditions. The system can also safely monitor complex installations and ensures that the rides are safely switched off if the set limit values are undercut or exceeded. They can also monitor by position and speed determination whether the bars can be opened at the end of the ride and closed for the start.
DINA’s safety system is built into the control cabinet, where it can be easily and quickly mounted and wired. Single or double spring-loaded terminals make wiring easy. The system’s uniform hardware simplifies the ordering process and stock-keeping for the plant manufacturer and can be used in various applications. DINA also offers in-depth support in application creation and commissioning to ensure that the system functions optimally.
