HEIDENHAIN has preserved the longstanding benefits of its EnDat interface technology while continuously developing it for the future of digitalization. To show this in action, HEIDENHAIN will provide two demonstrations: Over just four wires, three different encoders will transmit position, sensor and monitoring data in EnDat 3 bus mode at a cycle time of 30 µs. And in a different setup, encoders installed at each joint of a measuring arm will transmit position feedback using the same technology.
The benefits of this technology are functional safety, extensive diagnostics and less cabling. EnDat 3 is the ideal encoder interface for achieving high system integration. It lowers system costs, enables a flexible machine architecture and meets the requirements of future digitalization.
